Wonderfully Made by MXNI
Wonderfully Made is an up in coming skincare line by MXNI that started in 2020 with the desire to create skin care products that women and men can use to elevate their skin care routine.
Task
I was tasked to create the logo for the skincare line that the client would use for all of their skincare products and packaging.
Software
Sketchbook
Adobe Illustrator
Adobe Photoshop
Research Process
After an initial conversation with the client, I could identify what they wanted the logo to represent. The conversation focused on how the name Wonderfully Made revolved around the client's belief in God and how we were created by him. The scripture of reference is Psalms 139. Of course, I was given creative freedom to create the logo however I sought fit could represent and incorporate Wonderfully Made.
I know this is slowly becoming a sermon, but this process was the backing of what led to my approach later on when coming up with the design. In Psalms 139, the author David is very descriptive of just how God created us as humans specifically in verse 15 where he states "I was woven together in the depths of the earth. This of course led me back to the beginning of the bible in Genesis as well where the bible gives an account of the creation of everything including humans.
How I tied everything together was to create a design that uses the concept of creation, nature, and the earth and incorporate it with the name "Wonderfully Made". I decided to use a green leaf as a symbol that I felt tied to all those things.
Sketches
I created a few sketches with 4 of them connecting ideas that I was exploring with the leaf concept. The client ended up going with the logo concept of Wonderfully being written out as a script with the 2 leaves attached to the left end of the letter W. Of course talking it over with them I was able to figure out what I thought would be the best to visualize the look of the sketch.
Logo Design Option 1
This logo contains the bevel & emboss effect to give the design a commercialized pop. This effect works well with packaging.
Option 1 Packaging
Logo Design Option 2
This version does not contain the bevel & emboss effect. Instead, the logo is a solid color for a simple and impactful look. This version can be used for more digital media formats such as pictures, ads, and even video. The solid version makes it easy to translate in practicality regardless of size and area of arrangement.

Reflections
This logo is definitely one of the more aesthetically pleasing designs I've done. It was the first project I had ever done that is related to skincare or the beauty industry. But it definitely opened my eyes to the possibilities of what I can do as a designer especially in the industry that I can be able to do the work and thrive in.
In the future what would like to create more ads and create video content to see how the logos can translate but based on what I have been able create already I can definitely see this logo translating to video as well just because of the simplicity of the design. Of course my client enjoyed this and I can definitely see myself doing this type of work more.
